ARP 234-4343 GM LT1 LT4 Gen V 6.2L Head Stud Kit
This ARP 234-4343 GM Head Stud Kit is for LT1 and LT4 Gen V 6.2L engines with M8 corner studs. This set comes complete with studs, 12-point nuts and parallel ground hardened washers. Manufactured from ARP2000 Alloy, ARP heat-treats these studs in house to 220,000 psi tensile strength. Thread rolling after heat-treat creates a fastener that has threads 2000% stronger than others!
ARP 234-4343 GM Head Stud Kit Fits:
- LT1 and LT4 Gen V 6.2L engines with M8 corner studs
STUDS vs. BOLTS
Virtually every top professional engine builder relies on ARP head studs for their all-out competition powerplants, and for good reason!
Here’s why: when you use bolts to secure the head, the fastener is actually being “twisted” while it’s being torqued to the proper reading. Accordingly, the bolt is reacting to two different forces simultaneously.
Studs also provide more accurate and consistent torque loading. Using studs ensures easier engine assembly, and proper alignment of both the cylinder head and gasket.
Install a stud in a “relaxed” mode – never crank it in tightly using a jammed nut. Always install the stud hand tight! Then, when applying torque to the nut, the stud will stretch only on the vertical axis.
