This BluePrint Engines BP3961CT GM Long Block Crate Engine 396 Small Block produces 491 horsepower and 509 ft./lbs. of torque. It comes with aluminum cylinder heads as well as a hydraulic roller camshaft. It also has Forged pistons as well as a Steel crankshaft, and features a 10.4:1 compression ratio.
This engine features an align honed bearing bore as well as sonic-tested cylinders, and cylinders honed to within .0002" straightness and roundness. It also includes valve covers, oil pan as well as a timing cover. A mechanical fuel pump provision and a passenger side dipstick are also included.
BluePrint Engines recommends 93 octane gasoline as well as 34 degrees total ignition timing at 3500 RPM. A 850 cfm carburetor in addition to a dual plane intake are recommended.
